Bred for their dazzling bicolour blooms, the Firestars Series will bring a bold colour accent to summer planting schemes. Crocosmia 'Firestarter' boasts arching stems tipped with funnel-shaped yellow blooms, each with a bright orange margin. This compact variety forms a dense clump over time, ensuring maximum impact in borders, particularly when planted in bold groups. Like all Crocosmia, it is hardy, reliable and easy to grow. Height: 75cm (29"). Spread: 10cm (14").

How to Grow

Grow Crocosmia in rich fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. If necessary, improve soils by adding plenty of well rotted manure prior to planting.

Crocosmia requires little attention throughout the growing season. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems in autumn and apply a mulch of bark chips or well rotted compost to protect the corms over winter. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Crocosmia in spring to maintain their vigour.
