Bee Mix Seed Bag - 100 Balls (BAG100-NOTHS2)
Throw onto soil or compost in a garden bed or planter in Spring or Autumn, leaving at least 10cm between each ball. Your Seedball has everything it needs to grow and, once the ball becomes moist and the temperature is right, your seeds will germinate.
Seed balls can be scattered on top of soil or compost in your garden. For grassy areas it’s best to remove a layer of top-soil before scattering seed balls. Seed balls can also be grown with some soil or compost in pots (or other planters) in your garden, balcony and window boxes.
Wildflowers are naturally slow to grow and the balls can take 2-4 weeks to begin to sprout. Some will flower in the first year and others may not flower until the second year, but the display should keep getting better with time! The more they are initially watered, the quicker they will be to start to grow; these are fine if left to be watered with rain.
The balls are made from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protects means that the seeds are inaccessible to ants & birds, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout.
All cardboard packaging (including the Seedball packs) is made from 100% recycled card and vegetable inks and can be safely composted.
