Description
Agapanthus 'Jacaranda' is a particularly early flowering variety. Blooming from as early as June, the showy umbels of blue flowers are beautifully striped with deeper blue. This African Blue Lily adds a dramatic vertical presence to herbaceous borders, where its sturdy upright stems will rise to create a lovely focal point. The linear, evergreen foliage forms neat clumps that make good ground cover when planted in large swathes. This reliable hardy perennial copes in most soils, and enjoys a sunny spot. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
More Info
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
