Description

Create a carpet of colour that will last from winter through to spring with this classic Woodland Bulb Duo. The single-flowered Snowdrops begin the display during the coldest months, followed by a sea of Bluebells which herald the return of warmer weather.

These low maintenance bulbs are ideal for naturalising beneath deciduous trees and shrubs to form maintenance-free ground cover that will gradually spread as the years pass by. Height and spread: 30cm (12"). Spread: 10cm (4").

How to Grow

Choose a position in dappled shade in reliably moist, well-drained soil. These bulbs prefer a soil rich in organic matter, so add some well-rotted manure or compost to the soil before planting. Space bulbs randomly throughout the planting area at a distance of 10cm apart.

Bluebells should be planted at a depth of 10cm (4"), with the pointed end facing upwards. Snowdrops should be planted at a depth of 5cm (2"). For natural looking drifts, gently cast them across the planting area and plant them where they land!

More Info
Woodland bulbs particularly dislike dry soil in summer so water regularly during the growing season until bulbs are fully established. When growing bluebells and snowdrops, it is essential to allow their foliage to die back naturally. Avoid mowing areas of grass where bulbs are naturalised until their foliage has completely died back.
