Description

Brightly coloured Tulips are the perfect way to breathe life into spring borders. Our Tulip Collection brings together a strong display of classic shapes and bold colours to brighten up your borders and patio containers. With their sturdy, upright stems they make fabulous cut flowers too. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 20cm (8").

  • Collection comprises:
  • Tulip ‘Europe’ - a classic single tulip with brilliant crimson petals and broad margins in a contrasting yellow-gold.
  • Tulip ‘Angel's Share’ - an unusual bi-colour combination - rose-coloured petals feather into white margins in a classic single form. Perfect for fresh spring bouquets.
  • Tulip ‘Sunspot’ - Sporting large double flowers in a radiant yellow-gold, it is irrepressibly cheerful, bringing sunshine into the garden even during spring showers.

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. However, some people have had strong allergic reactions to Tulip flowers. If touching them causes a rash, numbness etc. then Tulip flowers should not be eaten. For more details about edible flowers click here.

How to Grow
Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.
More Info
After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
