Description
With ‘Red Robin’ parentage, you can expect superb colour to the young foliage of Photinia x fraseri 'Carré Rouge'. The upright stems are packed with glossy leaves, with that intense red colour in springtime that makes Photinia so distinctive. This variety has a more compact habit, with dense growth that makes this a far better hedging plant. This neat and tidy cultivar copes well with pruning and once established, will reman trouble free. Height: 250cm (98"). Spread: 200cm (78").

How to Grow
Grow Photinia plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any moderately fertile, moist, well drained soil. In frost prone areas, plant Photinia next to a warm wall or in the shelter of other shrubs. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Photinia shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Once established, Photinia requires only occasional attention, removing any damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in summer after flowering. If grown as a hedge, it can be trimmed up to 3 times a year, from late spring through to mid-August.
