Description

The perfect plant for injecting a splash of early summer colour to the garden, Geum 'Lady Stratheden' kick-starts summer with masses of blooms from May onwards. Bright, sunny yellow flowers at the top of slender, upright stems provide an airy feel to planting schemes, also attracting bees and other pollinators. This neat and compact perennial is ideal for planting towards the front of a border. Thriving in sun or partial shade, the low maintenance RHS AGM variety will put on a reliable and rewarding show each year with very little fuss. Enjoy it in the garden or snip a few stems to put in a vase and add a cheery splash of colour to your home. Height: 60cm (24”). Spread: 45cm (18”).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Geums dislike soils which are prone to waterlogging in winter. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or partial shade.
More Info

Water regularly until plants are fully established. Regular deadheading will encourage more flowers to be produced throughout the summer. In spring, lift and divide overcrowded clumps of geum to maintain their vigour.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
