Description
From mid-summer, slender stems rise above the foliage tipped with sprays of fiery orange blooms that are flushed with gold. Narrow, sword shaped foliage forms an arching clump of leaves that will gradually spread to form a slowly wandering drift. Crocosmia ‘Spitfire’ is somewhat better behaved than other varieties, with a compact, dwarf habit. A fabulous choice for exotic borders, or adding to a hot colour-themed herbaceous border. This hardy perennial is steadfastly reliable and easy to grow. Height: 75cm (29"). Spread: 10cm (14").

How to Grow
Grow Crocosmia in rich fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. If necessary, improve soils by adding plenty of well rotted manure prior to planting.
More Info
Crocosmia requires little attention throughout the growing season. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems in autumn and apply a mulch of bark chips or well rotted compost to protect the corms over winter. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Crocosmia in spring to maintain their vigour.
