Sow spring to late summer in a good seed compost. Scatter the seed on surface of compost and seal in a polythene bag or cover with a piece of glass until after germination which usually takes 14-21 days at 25°C (75F). Do not exclude light.
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5cm (3in) pots and finally 10-12cm (4-5in) pots.
Water freely in the summer and moderately in winter.
