1 Packet (500 Seeds) (81515)
Sow begonia seeds from mid January to mid March at 24-27ºC (75-80ºF), on the surface of a good quality seed compost and gently firm down. Keep the soil damp but not wet and do not exclude light. Place in a propagator or seal the seed tray inside a polythene bag until after germination, which usually takes 15-60 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow them on in cooler conditions until large enough to plant outdoors.
When begonia plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors in sun or dapple shade on fertile, well drained soil at a distance of 20cm (8”) apart.
CAUTION: Begonia seeds are dust-like. To open packet, hold over a sheet of white paper, cut along three sides of the inner pack and carefully open out flat. Tap the packet gently to dislodge the seed.
