The largest flowered and tallest of all Alyssum varieties, ‘Giga White’ forms soft, pillowy mounds of pure white flowers that look wonderful billowing from a hanging basket or container either on their own or combined with other bedding. They are equally good as ground cover in borders and rockeries where their fragrant blooms will continue flowering from June until September, attracting masses of beneficial pollinators. Height: 15cm (6in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
Culinary note: The leaves and flowers of sweet alyssum have a pungent flavour, similar to kale. Try adding them to salads, cold soups or even omelettes. For more details about edible flowers click here.
