Description

These charming dwarf alpine poppies are perfect for adding a cheerful splash of colour to rock gardens, gravel gardens and the front of dry, sunny borders. Cup-shaped blooms in a cheerful mixture of yellow, orange, peach, red and white shades are produced in summer, on individual stems above deeply divided, ferny foliage. A short-lived perennial that thrives in a sunny, well-drained spot and tricky dry sites where little else will grow, Papaver alpinum will readily naturalise without becoming a nuisance, seeding to replace itself and create a self-sustaining colony. Height: 20cm (8in). Spread: 10cm (4in).
