This stunning variety is one of the most eye catching hydrangeas available. The rounded flower heads are formed by dozens of red florets with blue centres, each petal tipped with an extraordinary shade of lime green. Found as a chance seedling, this incredible variety is repeat flowering producing a second flush of flowers later in the season.
As with many varieties, Hydrangea macrophylla 'Glam Rock' produces widely different colour tones depending on the soil pH. If the soil is neutral to alkaline (a pH of 7 to 14) then flowers will be more pink-red-green. In acid soils (pH less than 7) the flowers will tend to be more purple-blue-green in their colouration, with blooms being bluer, the lower the pH gets.
In addition to this, Hydrangeas are well known for their flowers changing colour as the season progresses. These colour changes can be quite dramatic from bud break to mature bloom. This robust, hardy shrub makes a superb addition to borders or large patio containers. Height and spread: 120cm (48").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
The blue flowers will take on a pink hue as they fade through autumn and may also be affected by alkaline tap water or soil. For the deepest blue flowers right through the season we recommend the use of Hydrangea Colourant
