...from the Alan Titchmarsh Collection to be used by hundreds of garden centres around the country in fund raising activities to raise money for Greenfingers, the garden industry charity creating magical gardens for children’s hospices.
At the recent Garden Media Guild Awards, Alan Titchmarsh pledged his support for the day by saying:
"Fellow gardeners,
You’ve heard of Comic Relief and Sports Relief …….. now the garden industry is launching its own version, Garden Re-Leaf. On Tuesday 13th March gardeners young and old will be celebrating the start of the garden year with fun, fundraising events to raise money for Greenfingers, our gardening industry Charity."
Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy is very easy to grow and a cracking plant to add fantastic colour and dimension to the summer garden, either in borders or in large patio containers.
Visitors to garden centres taking part in Garden Re-Leaf Day will be able to join in various fund raising activities, and for a donation of only £1.00 (normal RRP £2.99) take home a packet of this wonderful variety, sow the seed and enjoy a beautiful garden all summer knowing they have played their part in creating equally magical gardens for children’s hospices. Every penny from the donation will go to Greenfingers.
Many garden centres will be holding seed sowing demonstrations and encouraging everyone to participate in the Great Seed Sowing Challenge, an event to get as many people as possible sowing seeds on March 13th, either during activities in the garden centre or back at home.
