- Perfect dimensions for positioning on the windowsill
- Constant gentle heat creates the ideal environment for successful seed germination
- Very low running costs - pennies per day
A propagator is one of the most useful pieces of equipment for gardeners. It will help you to grow new plants from seed and also from root cuttings taken from existing plants. Growing from seed or cuttings is a very rewarding and cost effective way to add variety to your garden. To successfully germinate and grow seeds and cuttings, you need heat. Given the climate in the UK, it is often difficult to achieve the right temperature for germination and propagation. Even if you are able to place your seed pots or trays on a bright windowsill, the night time drop in temperature can adversely affect the success of the germination process.
The electric heated base of the Super 7 windowsill propagator will transfer gentle heat to the compost in the seed trays, creating a perfect environment for germination. Vents in the tops of the seed tray covers allow for ventilation. The propagator runs on a 13 watt element, costing pennies per day to run.
The Super 7 electric windowsill propagator is best positioned - as the name would suggest - on a windowsill which provides lots of light, but not direct sunshine. North or east facing windows are ideal. The Super 7 is not for use in an unheated greenhouse; it has been designed for use in a house where the average temperature will not fall below 10°C.
The heated base of this electric windowsill propagator will boost the ambient temperature of the compost in the seed trays by an average of 8°C. For optimum results, it's worth checking the ambient temperature - the ideal compost temperature for germination is between 18 and 22°C. It may be that on warmer, brighter days, the electric propagator only needs to be switched on at night.
Dimensions: 76cm x 18.5cm.

For best results, don't sow your seeds too thickly, keep your seedlings well ventilated and always use water from the tap and never from a water butt as this can contain damaging pathogens.
