Description

The next generation of climbing fuchsias has arrived! Fuchsia 'Pink Fizz' offers a huge improvement over the climbing favourite 'Lady Boothby'. Showy and free flowering, the dangling pink blooms are produced along the entire length of the stem and not just on the tips. The vigorous upright stems can extend by up to 1.5m (5ft) in a single season, making it perfect for covering walls, fences, arches and obelisks. Tolerating temperatures down to -10°C (14F), this hardy fuchsia is tough enough to be permanently planted in a border getting bigger and better each year. Height: 1.5m (5'). Spread: 90cm (36").

The Pink Fizz' Complete Tower Pot Collection includes: 5 Postiplug plants, 25 litres of incredicompost™, 100g of incredibloom® and 1 Tower Pot™ pack.

Culinary note: Add the beautiful coloured flowers to salads, crystallise them for a sweet garnish or add them to jellies for an extra splash of colour. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Pot up Fuchsia 'Pink Fizz' using well drained compost such as John Innes No.3, and grow on in warm, frost-free conditions. Pinch out the growing tips while fuchsia plants are still small to promote bushier growth and more flowers. When plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a 7 to 10 day period, before planting them in their final positions in patio containers and sunny or semi shaded borders. Choose a site where they are protected from cold winds over winter. Provide a sturdy support, such as a plant climbing frame or trellis, to support the long stems of climbing fuchsias as they grow.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded fuchsia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced, and tie the stems to their supports with twine or soft plant ties. Apply a deep bark mulch around the base of hardy fuchsias in autumn to protect the roots from winter cold. Prune out the oldest stems in spring when the fresh buds begin to break, and reduce the remaining stems to restrict their vigorous growth to the available space.
