Thompson & Morgan's new vegetable seed introductions are tested many times to ensure good germination, healthy crops and tasty produce. Thompson & Morgan was delighted to read in the December 2011 issue of Gardeners' World that a number of these new varieties got top marks from the magazine's experts.
The first purple mangetout pea from British breeding Pea Shiraz wowed Thompson & Morgan with its stunning purple pods and delicious flavour. Monty Don, presenter of Gardeners' World said "...they germinated well...cropped heavily and attractively and tasted very good...I shall certainly grow them again next year."

A delightful basket tomato with a long cropping period - you'll have sweet, juicy and blight-free tomatoes from July to September. Our customers gave Losetto 5 stars and Alys Fowler, gardener and writer, was equally impressed: "...when blight hit, they were unblemished. The fruits were tasty...hugely prolific and...I'll grow them again."

These quality leeks are so tolerant of cold, they'll withstand the harshest of weathers. The tasty leeks have dark leaves and pure white stems that stand well, are slow to bolt and rust tolerant. David Hurrion, Horticultural Editor of Gardeners' World magazine grew them in pots and said they "grew quickly...I got my first crop in October and will be harvesting until Christmas. Not the thickest leeks I've grown, but with a good, clean stem and a strong 'leeky' flavour."
